Ann L. Forsaith Scholarship Fund
Ann L. Forsaith Scholarship Fund
A gift from the late Ann L. Forsaith, a longtime Iowa Summer Writing Festival participant, enables us to offer a very limited number of one-time, financial-need-based scholarships toward registration fees for a Festival workshop.
The Ann Forsaith Memorial Scholarship is open to writers in any genre, at any level of practice: those undertaking creative work for the first time and those with writing projects underway.
We evaluate applications based on financial need. Form 1 asks you to describe the financial circumstances that support your request for tuition assistance. If you are enrolled in a public assistance program, please mention it. Examples of public assistance programs include but are not limited to: Medicaid; SSI (Disability, Not Retirement); SNAP; Section 8 Housing; and Free or Reduced-Price School Meals.
Please also fill out Form 2, where you will include a personal statement that describes what you hope to get out of a Festival workshop.
In order for your application to be considered, you must fill out both of the following forms:
Application Form 1: Financial Circumstances
Application Form 2: Personal Statement
Scholarship applications are currently open for the Spring 2025 online season of the Iowa Summer Writing Festival. You will need to reapply for future seasons.
You are encouraged to apply as soon as possible for full consideration. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis through early May 2025. We will contact you if we are able to award you a scholarship.
Thanks for your interest in joining us at the Festival!
